Justice Bruce Thomas has denied a defence application to get Raul Huezo, 25, out of jail.
Huezo is charged in connection to the murder of Darrion Moffatt, 18, in September 2018.
As previously reported, Huezo was granted bail in 2020 on the murder charge, but he was re-arrested in 2022 for an alleged weapon offence.
Huezo was again granted bail but was re-arrested in 2024 for allegedly breaching his bail conditions.
The Criminal Code of Canada prevents the media from reporting any details heard during the bail hearing and the judge’s reasons for denying bail.
According to the Superior Court office, the trial on the murder charge is currently slated for September 2025.
