Treat yourself to a donut and help Windsor-Essex Special Olympians

Starting Friday and running until Sunday night, Tim Hortons is raising money for Special Olympics.

The chocolate flavoured donut with colourful icing and whipped cream was created by a special Olympian, according to Adam Young.

Young is a Windsor police officer who volunteers his time raising money for the charity.

“I’m just raising money so that other athletes can have different sports, whether it’s hockey, baseball, basketball, bocce, other, special Olympic Games, to give people with intellectual disabilities a chance and, to help them out wherever we can,” Young said Friday.

The Windsor Police Service has been a long-time supporter of the Special Olympics, participating in the Law Enforcement Torch Run and Polar Plunge.
