Three alleged impaired drivers taken off the road in Essex County

Essex County OPP officers have taken three alleged impaired drivers off the road after separate incidents over the past few days.

A 24-year-old Tecumseh man has been charged following a single-vehicle collision in Lakeshore on Friday at 3:20 a.m.

Police responded to a vehicle in the ditch on Patillo Road.

The driver was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

-Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs

Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

In a separate incident on Thursday at 7:06 p.m., officers responded to a vehicle in the ditch on Walker Road in Tecumseh.

A 47-year-old Tecumseh resident was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code Liquor Licence and Control Act offences:

-Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs

-Failure or refusal to comply with demand

-Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available

In another case on Thursday at 9:10 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop on County Road 22 in Lakeshore.

A 25-year-old Windsor resident was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

-Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs

-Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

For all three of the drivers, a 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges.
