The Salvation Army Windsor expands warming centre hours

The Salvation Army Windsor Centre of Hope is now operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week due to the freezing cold temperatures.

These hours will continue until Jan. 29, weather permitting. After the cold snap has passed, nightly services will be offered from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m., until further notice.

“Vulnerable members of our community are at a significant risk in these extreme conditions,” said Jason Linton, executive director of The Salvation Army Windsor Centre of Hope.

“This expanded service provides vital warmth, shelter, and support to those who need it most during this critical time.”

Hot meals, blankets, and other necessities are provided to those in need by the warming centre.

Donations of hats, mittens, and hygiene kits are also welcomed. They can be delivered to 355 Church Street.
