The Municipality of Lakeshore and University of Windsor agree to enhance partnership

The Municipality of Lakeshore and the University of Windsor agreed to enhance their partnership with an official event on Tuesday.

Mayor Tracey Bailey and the president and vice-chancellor of the University of Windsor, Rob Gordon, made it official at the Atlas Tube Recreation Centre.

They signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a collaborative framework that supports learning initiatives, research partnerships, innovation, and experiential learning opportunities.

The agreement aims to strengthen development, talent retention, and deepen community engagement.

For president Gordon, the agreement opens the door to expansive mutual benefits for the two entities.

“So, by working together, we can create win-win opportunities,” said Gordon.

“And for us, the foundation of everything we do is to fully support student experience. And we see the relationship with Lakeshore in particular, is going to provide some of those training opportunities for our students to really to grow in their roles here locally, but also where they take their careers later on as well too.”
