Suspect wanted in second attempted robbery in three days: WPS

Windsor police are searching for a suspect wanted in an attempted jewellery theft at Tecumseh Mall. According to police, this was the second attempt on the store in three days.

Just before 2 p.m. on Sunday, police received reports of the incident. According to police, a man, who was wearing a black face cover and black clothes, went into the store and allegedly used a weapon to try and smash a glass display case. When the case didn’t break, the suspect reportedly ran and was seen getting into a 2001 silver Chrysler Sebring that was parked outside.

Not long after, the Windsor Police Service found the suspect vehicle empty in the 2600 block of Meadowbrook Lane. The vehicle was seized, part of the ongoing investigation.

Anyone who live in the area of 2600 Meadowbrook Lane and the 7600 block of Tecumseh Road East, as well as business owners, are asked to check dashcam or surveillance footage between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Sunday.
