Delivery vehicle stolen in Chatham-Kent

The Chatham-Kent Police Service has reported a stolen delivery van in Tilbury.

The incident took place around 12:50 p.m. on Thursday. According to the CKPS, a delivery driver stopped at an address on Dufferin Avenue, leaving his vehicle running and unlocked, while he delivered a package.

While the driver was making their delivery, a suspect got into the vehicle and drove away.

The theft was reported and through a GPS tracking device in the van, officers tried to stop the vehicle near Tecumseh Line. The driver jumped out, running, before he was taken into custody.

No injuries or damages were reported.

The 37-year-old Leamington man was arrested and released with a court date.
