Chatham-Kent Police Service has recognized three officers for their life saving actions, rescuing a 61-year-old man during a call on February 5, 2025.
Police say that on that day at around 3:21 a.m., emergency services were called to a Chatham residence for reports of a man who was unresponsive.
When they arrived at the scene, Constable Reed, Constable Vanherpe, and Constable Soulliere moved him from his bed to the floor and began CPR.
Working together, the three maintained resuscitation until EMS arrived and took over.
The man began breathing and regained his pulse on his way to the hospital, “Our officers demonstrated outstanding professionalism and composure in a high-pressure situation. Their actions exemplify the values and dedication of the Chatham-Kent Police Service,” said Deputy Chief, Jason Chickowski.
A Letter of Recognition was presented to the officers at the Chatham-Kent Police Services Board meeting on Wed. March 5.
