According to the municipality, there is a boil water advisory in effect for parts of Chatham-Kent.

The advisory is in effect for all consumers of the municipal water distribution systems for Mitchell’s Bay, Grande Pointe and Bass Haven.

The reason for the advisory is due to a loss in water pressure through the distribution system.

Acting Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Shanker Nesathurai, is advising residents to bring the water to a rolling boil for at least one minute prior to using it for domestic purposes, such as drinking, making infant formula and juice, brushing teeth, washing raw foods and making ice. Alternatively, safe bottled water sources can be used for consumption.
