Windsor police officers were near the downtown area on Tuesday as they conducted an active investigation.
The incident took place in the 1000 block of Windsor Avenue shortly after 2:30 p.m.
Windsor police confirmed that when officers arrived on the scene and knocked on the door of the residence, a man inside became aggressive, brandished a knife, and barricaded himself inside of a bedroom.
When he refused to exit the room, officers set up a perimeter around the property. The man was negotiated with by officers, and surrendered at around 4:15 p.m.
The road was closed between Ellis and Giles for around two hours.
