There’s no question, we’ve had an amazing summer on Vancouver Island. Temperatures have been above normal for weeks, and we’ve had hardly any rain. New monthly forecasts suggest we’re in for more of the same through Thanksgiving.
Environment Canada forecasters have updated their monthly outlook and it puts Western Canada in a warm spell until at least mid-October. Areas in red indicate temperatures will be above normal. So what is normal for Vancouver Island? In September, the average daytime high temperature is around 19°C in Victoria. By October, that temperature drops to just under 15°C. So far this month Victoria has averaged 22.1°C. If the trend holds, October may not feel like fall, even though the signs of autumn, from ochre pumpkins to fiery leaves, will be everywhere.
