In like a lion, out like a lamb

I think these photos offer a pretty good summary of this month’s weather. Talk about March Madness! Spring forecasts are usually all-over-the-place and this month was no exception.

TEMPERATURE

We began March with a cold snap. YYJ reached a high of just 3.1°C on the 2^nd, but warmed to 13.8°C on the 24^th. On average, the month was a little cooler than normal, by about one degree Celsius.

RAINFALL

By the 15^th more than 100mm rain had fallen at the airport, more than two-thirds of the monthly total. On average the month brings 75.2mm rain. We’re rounding out March with 123.3mm!

We wrap it up with sunshine and temperatures above average, which has lifted the spirits of many. No fooling, April’s first few days bring sunshine and warmer temperatures. We’re ready!
