Police are on the lookout for a man sought in an assault with a weapon near downtown Victoria.
Officers said they were responding to a report of an assault with a weapon in the 2600-block of Douglas Street at around 12:15 p.m. Tuesday.
The victim in the attack called 911 and received help from bystanders until they were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The attacker is described as 5'2" tall with a medium build, blue top, brown pants and was seen carrying a red skateboard. He reportedly fled the area and was last seen in the 700-block of Hillside Avenue.
Police aren't specifying the weapon used in the attack.
Anyone who sees someone matching the suspect description is asked to call 911.
