Victoria's horse carriage operators say recent allegations from the Victoria Horse Alliance should be put out to pasture.

The operators say fees and documentation for horse carriage businesses aren't due until mid-January and the alliance is completely wrong to claim horse carriage licences in the capital city have not been renewed for 2018.

Operators also strenuously dispute claims of mistreatment of the horses, with Tally Ho Carriage Tours owner and operator Donna Friedlander saying the animals are treated as pets and live on a farm with the Friedlander family.

She says it's business as usual for the popular tourist attraction.
