Video shows teens scrambling to take video of pickup doing donuts in McDonald’s parking lot

A group of young people with their cellphones held up attempt to take video of a pickup doing donuts.

Mounties in B.C.’s Fraser Valley shared surveillance video of a group of teens in a McDonald’s parking lot as they scrambled to capture a pickup doing donuts amid a cloud of exhaust.

Langley RCMP Posted the video online Tuesday, along with a warning about the consequences of dangerous driving.

The incident was reported last month and police said reviewing the CCTV video led them to the driver involved—who was arrested for dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and fined for violations of the Motor Vehicle Act, including stunt driving.

“Several youths were observed running nearby while the vehicle circled them, creating a significant risk to public safety. The driving behaviour also resulted in damage to the roadway,” a statement from Mounties said.

“This type of driving behaviour will not be tolerated.”

Police are reminding drivers that penalties for this behaviour include vehicle impounds, penalty points, and steep fines. Authorities are also urging anyone who witnesses dangerous driving to report it.
