Victim in hospital, suspect at large after stabbing in Burnaby, B.C.

A 42-year-old man remains in hospital in stable condition after a stabbing Monday night in Burnaby, B.C.

Mounties were called to the 7400 block of Woodbrook Place near Squint Lake Park for reports of a disturbance at approximately 10:15 p.m., Cpl. Mike Kalanj said in a statement Tuesday.

Officers located the victim at the scene, and he was taken to hospital, where he remains, Kalanj said.

Investigators were at the scene to gather evidence and speak with potential witnesses Tuesday morning.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

The Burnaby RCMP’s serious crime unit has assumed conduct of the case.

“Police believe this to be an isolated incident and are asking any witnesses that have not yet spoken to police to please come forward,” Kalanj said.
