Surrey police arrest Calgary fugitive wanted on more than 30 charges

Surrey police have arrested a man who was wanted on more than 30 charges out of Alberta.

Tyler Joshua Evoy was arrested last week at the request of the Calgary Police Service, the Surrey Police Service said in a news release Tuesday.

The 39-year-old “was located in Burnaby by SPS officers” on Dec. 11, Surrey police said. Evoy was arrested and remanded into custody pending his return to Calgary, they added.

Calgary police contacted the SPS about Evoy in late October, according to the release. The Surrey department’s prolific offenders team led the search and worked with the CPS, Alberta Crown prosecutors and the B.C. RCMP’s fugitive return program on the investigation.

Charges against Evoy include multiple counts of criminal harassment, multiple counts of distribution of an intimate image without consent and multiple counts of failing to comply with a court order, police said.
