Police are seeking witnesses to a crash that involved an RCMP officer on the Sea to Sky highway Friday morning.

Mounties were called to the major highway near Cheakamus Lake Road at around 8:30 a.m. after a Whistler RCMP officer driving a marked police car collided with another vehicle, Whistler RCMP said in a release Friday afternoon.

Both drivers received non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a local area clinic for treatment, the statement said.

The investigation has since been taken over by the Sea to Sky RCMP General Investigations Section.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the collision, or has relevant dash-cam video, to contact the Whistler RCMP at 604-932-3044.
