Man stabbed in Kamloops, RCMP say

A suspect is at large after a stabbing in Kamloops’ North Shore area Wednesday night, according to police.

The Kamloops RCMP say they were called to Tranquille Road and Don Street around 10:15 p.m. Officers found a man with a stab wound, and say he is expected to recover from the injury.

“Luckily, a passerby found the victim in a bush and applied pressure to the injured area, while emergency responders were en route,” said Cpl. Crystal Evelyn, spokesperson for the Kamloops RCMP, in a Thursday news release.

“At this time, the assault is believed to be targeted. Little information is available related to the attacker, other than that the person was allegedly wearing a complete face mask. The attack also may have occurred in another location.”

Police asked the public to check their security and dash cameras to see if they caught anything related to the incident, and urged anyone with information to call the detachment at 250-828-3000.
