Man charged in stabbing of Surrey woman

A woman was hospitalized Sunday following a stabbing incident in Surrey's Cloverdale neighbourhood.

A man has been charged with multiple crimes in the alleged stabbing of a woman in Surrey this weekend, according to authorities.

Officers were called to the 6300 block of Sundance Drive around 12:30 p.m. for reports “a woman had been stabbed by a man near a residence,” the Surrey Police Service said in a news release Monday.

Tyler James Heiling, 38, has been charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, break and enter, mischief and failing to comply with conditions.

He remains in custody and is next due in court on March 21, police said.

No information about the relationship between the suspect and the victim has been provided – other than that they were known to one another.

Police have also not provided any additional details about the incident.
