Search and rescue volunteers helped an injured nature-goer while on a snowmobiling trip on Friday.

Central Okanagan Search and Rescue says three of its members were riding at Hunters Range near Enderby when they were called to the scene of a “serious snowmobile accident.”

Two members who had advanced medical training treated the injured rider, while a third called 911 and co-ordinated the rescue effort, COSR recounted in a social media post Saturday.

The team stabilized the rider and then built two fires to keep him warm while waiting for the evacuation toboggan.

“A huge thank you to the sledders at the main cabin who donated clothing and blankets for the subject, and to Vernon Search and Rescue for transporting the rider down the hill,” the post reads.
