A repeat offender has pleaded guilty to a 2022 killing in Langley, according to homicide investigators.

The victim, 30-year-old Cody Mostat, was found unconscious and seriously injured at a hotel on March 25, 2022. He died at the scene despite first responders' life-saving attempts, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said in an update on the case Wednesday.

Six months later, Justin Bos was charged with second-degree murder. Last month, Bos pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter with a firearm.

“Mr. Bos was a repeat offender and keeping him off the streets was important to us for public safety,” IHIT spokesperson Sgt. Fred Fong said in a statement.

In 2024, Bos was charged with second-degree murder in the slaying of Troy Michael Regnier in Surrey. Reignier was fatally shot in August of 2022 – after Mostat was killed but before Bos was arrested.

IHIT’s update says Bos is due for sentencing for manslaughter with a firearm in that case, as well as “multiple” other offences.
