Two employees of the Gallery nightclub in South Vancouver are facing charges related to drug trafficking following a 15-month police investigation, says the Vancouver Police Department.
An investigation kicked off in December 2023 when police received a tip about drug trafficking taking place within the Marpole nightclub, the VPD said in a release Friday afternoon.
Four counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, three counts of trafficking a controlled substance, one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking, and one count of possession of an unauthorized weapon have been approved against 28-year-old Commit Zanganeh.
Anthony Pomomis, 51, has been charged with one count of trafficking a controlled substance.
The Gallery Nightclub, located on Southwest Marine Drive, has been the scene of a variety of criminal activity in recent years.
In November 2023, police were called to investigate after a 19-year-old was stabbed inside the club - an incident that came less than one week after two men were shot outside the same establishment.
In May 2024, a man was hospitalized after being stabbed during a fight that erupted outside of the club, while in May 2022, an 18-year-old was killed in a stabbing outside of the club.
