Wednesday’s Vancouver Canucks game will go down in history for one couple, and not only because the home team won.

Fans at Rogers Arena got to witness a proposal live on the jumbotron.

During a break in the first period, the stadium played “finish that tune,” one of many segments used to keep the crowed energy up during stops in play.

The camera zeroed in on a man and a woman wearing Canucks jerseys who were invited to participate. The woman was asked to sing the missing line of “Take a Chance on Me” by ABBA.

After successfully filling in the words, for the next round, “Marry You” by Bruno Mars played.

The woman was distracted by the screen as the man standing behind her pulled out a ring. At the line “I think I wanna marry you,” he got down on one knee and the words “Alexia, will you marry me?” showed up on the screen.

The crowd erupted in cheer, and Alexia beamed and nodded, before kissing her partner.

“She said yes! Fans let’s hear it for Kirkland and Alexia!” said the announcer. Mascot Fin then gave the newly engaged high-fives.

As the cherry on top, the Canucks went on to win the matchup with the Anaheim Ducks 3-2.
