A murder charge has been laid nearly eight years after a man was dropped off at a B.C. emergency room with what would prove to be fatal injuries, according to authorities. Rodney Clement, who was 31, was dropped off at the hospital in Quesnel with “significant injuries” on Nov. 8, 2018, the RCMP said in a statement Monday. “He died as a result of his injuries, and investigators determined his death was the result of foul play,” Mounties said, adding that the Major Crimes Special Projects Unit took the lead on the case. Shane Edison Fralic, 54, was charged with one count of second-degree murder over the weekend. Police did not provide any information about how Fralic was identified as a suspect or what relationship, if any, he had with Clement. “This charge reflects the dedication and perseverance of those involved in the investigation and our ongoing commitment to pursuing justice for victims and their loved ones,” a spokesperson for the B.C. RCMP said, in the statement. Fralic’s next court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday.
