Investigators suspect alcohol was a factor in a Delta, B.C., crash that left three people injured Wednesday afternoon.
The Delta Police Department said two vehicles collided head-on near 62B Street and 60 Avenue shortly after 3 p.m.
“One driver has been detained for impaired driving,” the department said, in a news release. “Both drivers, and a passenger in the second vehicle have been transported to hospital.”
One of the individuals is in critical condition.
The crash forced the closure of 62B Street in both directions between 60 and 65B avenues, and police have warned drivers the route will remain blocked off for “an extended period of time” as evidence is gathered from the scene.
Investigators asked any potential witnesses – or anyone with dash-cam video of the collision – to contact the Delta Police Department.
