Two Vancouver Island gang associates have been found guilty of numerous weapons charges.

Police say two investigations carried out in the Duncan area in 2013 resulted in the arrests of two people on numerous firearms-related charges and trafficking.

The Combined Forces Special Enforcement of B.C. says a total of 22 guns were seized, along with thousands of rounds of ammunition and other firearms-related and devices and parts.

A 45-year-old man, Jason Donald Whyte, who pleaded guilty to multiple charges received an eight-year sentence, while 35-year-old Luke Gregory Massey received a three-year sentence.
