Two young men charged in last week’s drive-by shooting in Sooke appeared in court on Thursday.

Josh Lafleur, 25, and Damian Medwedrich, 21, are each charged with two counts of attempted murder after two people were shot on Ella Road on June 14.

CFAX 1070 reports the two men appeared briefly before a judge in Colwood Thursday morning. Lafleur appeared to have facial injuries, but his lawyer would not comment on how he got them.

The judge ruled that Medwedrich and Lafleur will be held in custody until their next court date, which has been scheduled for July 21.

The two men were ordered not to have any contact with each other, the two victims of the shooting or Dustin David Brown, who also faces two counts of attempted murder in connection with the shooting. Brown will appear in court on July 5.
