The Los Angeles Dodgers have evened up the World Series after beating the Toronto Blue Jays 5-1 on Saturday night.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto pitched his consecutive complete game at Rogers Centre, only giving up one run to the Blue Jays.

The Fall Classic now shifts to Los Angeles for three games.

The Blue Jays announced that Max Scherzer will pitch in Game 3 on Monday, while Tyler Glasnow will get the ball for the Dodgers.

First pitch is at 8 p.m.

11:14 p.m. - ‘It was a really good performance by (Yamamoto)’: Jays manager

Speaking to reporters after the Dodgers’ Game 2 win, Blue Jays team manager John Schneider noted Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s “impressive” pitching on Saturday night.

“Second complete game in a row in the postseason, that’s pretty impressive, with a layoff in between. I think he made it hard for us to make him work,” Schneider said. “He was in the zone, split was in and out of the zone. It was a really good performance by him.”

When asked what Schneider tells his players to look out for with Yamamoto’s pitches, the team manager said the Jays were ready, just that the LA pitcher had a “funky delivery.”

“I think that you just give him credit. He tunnelled everything really well, held his (velocity), and spotted his heater really well. I don’t think it was for a lack of prep or--it’s deception,” Schneider said. “There’s definitely some deception in his delivery, too. He was on his game.”

Yamamoto’s World Series complete game makes him the first pitcher in the postseason to do so since 2001, with Curt Schilling with the Arizona Diamondbacks, when he did three straight.

The Dodgers also pitched a complete game against the Milwaukee Brewers in the NLCS.

Yamamoto also made franchise history after retiring 20 consecutive batters, which is the highest number achieved by a Dodgers pitcher in the postseason.

Yamamoto spoke to FOX Sports’ Tom Verducci after the game about his complete game.

“I racked up my pitch count early on, but I took it one inning by one inning, and I think I was executing my pitches very well today,” Yamamoto said through his translator.

He admitted that during the early innings, he was tense, given that it’s the World Series.

“I adjusted that as the game went on,” Yamamoto said.

Barger said he didn’t know that he hit the first pinch-hit grand slam in World Series history until after a few innings later.

Joe Carter, the former Blue Jay who scored the World Series-winning homer in 1993, spoke with reporters ahead of Game 2 as he is expected to throw the ceremonial first pitch tonight.

When asked about whether he saw any similarities between this current team and the one winning team he had played on, Carter said there are “a lot.”

“One thing that we had in ‘92 and ‘93, it was the cohesiveness of the team playing together and even though we had great players, everybody pulled for one another,” Carter said. “We had great chemistry in the clubhouse, on the field, and every day, it was somebody different.”

With this current team, Carter says each player comes through for the other--even the ones out on the bench.

“For them, it‘s a lot of fun to come to the ballpark. It’s a lot of fun for them to cheer on one another, and those are things that’s going to propel you to a championship,” Carter said.

John Schneider assured reporters ahead of Game 2 that Bo Bichette felt pretty good after Friday’s game.

“When we put him on the roster, we did because we thought he could help us win, which he did yetserday and keeping in mind that he hasn’t played in seven weeks,” Schneider said. “So totally different animal with the adrenaline and the pressure to get into a World Series game in a position you haven’t played.”

Ultimately though, Schneider said they are checking in with Bichette to see how he’s feeling ahead of each World Series game.

When asked whether Schneider made the call to put Scherzer first on Monday, or if Scherzer told him, the team manager laughed and said he ultimately the call.

To help Jays fans get home Saturday night, Metrolinx says they will add 4 extra trips departing from Union Station.

The trips are as follows:

• Kitchener Line: Departing from Union Station at 12:35 a.m., making all station stops and arriving at Kitchener GO at 2:27 a.m.
• Barrie Line: Departing from Union Station at 12:30 a.m. making all station stops to Allandale Waterfront GO at 2:13 a.m.
• Stouffville Line: Departing from Union Station at 12:30 a.m. making all station stops to Old Elm GO at 1:42 a.m.
