Mississauga man charged after allegedly assaulting man in the face with ‘some form of edged weapon’

A man allegedly attacked another man in the face with “some form of edged weapon” behind a mall in Mississauga, Peel Regional Police say.

On Jan. 3, police say they responded to a disturbance call behind Westwood Mall, located near Goreway Drive in the Malton area, at around 8:50 p.m.

When officers arrived, they said they found a man in his 40s suffering from severe facial injuries.

Police arrested Mississauga resident Anthony Welcome, 39, on Friday and charged him with aggravated assault. The charge has not yet been tested in court.
