Two people are facing multiple charges after stealing a vehicle in Burlington on Thursday.

Halton police say officers found a stolen Toyota 4Runner on Parkdale Avenue North in Hamilton.

When officers attempted to stop the stolen SUV, police say the vehicle fled and collided with two Halton police vehicles before losing control a short distance away near Strathearne Avenue.

Police say the male driver and his female passenger then ran on foot. Both were caught and arrested a short time later.

Investigators determined that the Toyota 4Runner had been stolen from the Burlington-area on Jan. 13.

Police say 24-year-old Natalie Campbell has been charged with stolen property, and 41-year-old Steven Costello is facing the same charge along with dangerous operation of a vehicle and flight from police among others. They charges have not been tested in court.

Both are being held in custody in Milton pending a bail hearing.
