Toronto police arrest one of Canada's most wanted fugitives

Arrest made in deadly triple shooting in 2022 Police arrested 34-year-old Phillip Grant in connection with a triple shooting in Etobicoke that killed two men.

One of Canada’s most wanted fugitives, who is the suspect in a fatal double shooting in south Etobicoke more than two years ago, has been arrested.

On Wednesday, Toronto police announced that 34-year-old Phillip Grant, of Peel Region, was apprehended in Mississauga earlier in the day.

Homicide investigators had been searching for Grant since Aug. 2022 when he was identified as the suspect in a Jan. 3, 2022, shooting at 150 Thirtieth Street.

At 8:45 p.m. that day, police found 24-year-old Minyali Wur and 20-year-old Chudier Reat with gunshot wounds. They were both taken to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

A third unidentified victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Grant has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder, possession of a loaded restricted firearm, and possession of a firearm contrary to order.
