REGINA -- Kory Sheets was named Grey Cup MVP after leading the Saskatchewan Roughriders to a 45-23 victory over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

Sheets rushed for 197 yards, a new Grey Cup record, and scored two touchdowns.

Sheets smashed Johnny Bright's previous mark set in 1956.

Bright had a 169-yard performance as his Edmonton Eskimos beat the Montreal Alouettes 50-27 in that Grey Cup.

Wide receiver Chris Getzlaf, a Regina native, was most outstanding Canadian after catching 78 yards.

Sheets's second touchdown late in the fourth quarter gave Saskatchewan a 37-16 lead.
