A massive land-sale is taking place in the heart of Victoria's Old Town, and developers are sure to be licking their lips over the waterfront property.

The nearly seven-acre parcel of land is currently home to the Capital Iron building and an adjacent parking lot.

Victoria's Greene family owns the property and is selling it with one exception – that Capital Iron stays in business.

"Capital Iron is not for sale. We have a lot of things in the store for sale if you want to buy patio furniture or a barbecue, but we're not for sale," said business owner Michael Black.

Capital Iron is expected to be able to continue to lease the space once the building is sold.

All in, the property includes up to 700,000 square feet of development.

The listing is expected to hit the market in the next couple of weeks.
