Truck goes up in flames in Saskatoon A&W drive-thru

Two hungry would-be customers got more than they ordered when they made a stop at a popular Saskatoon fast food restaurant Saturday evening.

Just before 7:30 p.m. the truck they were in went up in flames while parked in the drive-thru of an A&W on 8th Street East.

Two people were inside the truck waiting for their order just before 7:30 p.m. Oct. 11 when the flames started to show. The occupants quickly fled when the fire spread through the cab of the vehicle.

Emergency crews were able to contain the fire to the truck and prevent it from spreading to the restaurant.

There’s no word on what led to the blaze. A fire investigator is looking into the cause.
