Three U of S Huskies named Canada West Players of the Week

University of Saskatchewan Huskies student-athletes continue to be named Canada West BioSteel Players of the Week.

In her first action of the season, fourth-year wrestler Myah Phillips was recognized as the women’s wrestling player of the week following a dominant performance at the Dino Open.

Phillips cruised to gold in the 83-kg weight class, surrendering just two total points while scoring 30.

U of S Huskie Seth Hundeby has been named football defensive player of the week following a dominant performance in a win over the UBC Thunderbirds on Oct. 17.

The fifth-year linebacker notched his second interception of the season and also had a sack-fumble in a 24–10 victory over the Thunderbirds. Hundeby was also recognized as player of the week in a Week 1 win over the University of Alberta Golden Bears.

Huskies Chantz Petruic has been recognized as the men’s hockey player of the week for his weekend play against TWU.

The Moose Jaw product scored a pair of goals in an Oct. 17 win, also adding an assist. The fifth-year player followed it up with a hat trick the next night in another Huskies victory.

Other Huskies to be named Canada West BioSteel Players of the Week this season include football players Anton Amundrud, Charlie Parks and Lukas Scott (twice) and women’s soccer players Cheyenne Lehmann and Julie Snider.
