TeleMiracle expanding for milestone 50th anniversary

TeleMiracle 50 is just a few months away, and big things are planned for the annual fundraiser, which provides medical equipment for Saskatchewan residents.

Tuesday morning, organizers announced an expanded show for the 50th TelelMiracle broadcast. The event will start two hours earlier, kicking off at 7 p.m. Saturday Feb. 28.

TeleMiracle 50 will take place from Saskatoon’s Prairieland Park and air live on CTV Saskatchewan.

Long-time cast members Beverley Mahood, Brad Johner and Jeffery Straker are returning for hosting duties.

New hosts joining the TeleMiracle team include Saskatoon radio personality Clayton Kroeker, Canadian country music star Jojo Mason, TSN host Kate Beirness and actor, producer and martial artist Sera-Lys McArthur of Nakota/Assiniboine Nation.

There will be plenty of live entertainment, including Saskatoon band The Steadies, country musician Brody Siebert and Northern Pikes frontman Jay Semko.

“It’s just an incredible cast of performers and characters who will bring the energy to the 22 hours of this 50th anniversary of the telethon,” Straker told CTV Your Morning Saskatchewan.

The annual fundraiser, which first aired in 1977, has raised over $171 million for the Kinsmen Foundation.

TeleMiracle 49 raised more than $5.7 million this year. The all-time record was set in 2022 when generous supports pledged $8,002,722.

TeleMiracle 50 runs Feb. 28 to March 1. Limited seating will be available for viewers to watch live in-person at Prairieland Park.
