Saskatoon woman handed ticket after being struck by city bus

An 18-year-old woman has been ticketed after being hit by a city bus on a busy roadway, according to the Saskatoon Police Service (SPS).

Police say it happened around 12:30 p.m. Monday near 8th Street East and Louise Avenue.

Officers were told the woman stepped off the sidewalk and into the path of the bus. She left the area but was found a few blocks away suffering from non-life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.

Police believe she was impaired at the time. She has since been issued a ticket for walking into the path of a vehicle when unsafe.
