Sask. Police renew calls for assistance locating man missing for 22 years

The Prince Albert Police Service is renewing calls for public assistance into the disappearance of a man 22 years ago.

Norman Halkett was last seen in early October 2003.

He’s described as standing five-foot, seven inches tall and weighing approximately 160 pounds, with brown eyes, long dark brown hair, a moustache, and tattoos on his chest. He would be 59 years old this year.

The Prince Albert Police Historical Crimes and Missing Persons Unit continues to investigate his disappearance.

In May 2021 Halkett was shown on billboards in 20 communities across Saskatchewan, Alberta and Manitoba, as part of a campaign aimed at finding answers in nine historical missing person cases.

At the time, the lead investigator for historical crimes and long-term missing files for PAPS said no amount of information is too small.

“That little bit of information might be the detail we need to finally help family members learn what happened and find closure,” Sgt. Kathy Edwardson explained.
