RCMP are searching for a suspect after a man was injured in a shooting in the northern community of La Ronge.

At around 2:45 p.m., on Thursday, officers responded to a report of a shooting at Bird Place where police say two men were involved in an altercation outside a home.

According to RCMP, during the altercation, one of the men fired a gun and injured the other. The injured man was taken to hospital by EMS with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

RCMP say the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle taken from the scene. The vehicle was later recovered on the morning of June 12, but the suspect has not been found.

Police have issued a warrant for 25-year-old Sampson Roberts of the La Ronge area. He faces multiple charges, including discharging a firearm with intent, robbery with a firearm, and several weapons-related offences.

Roberts is described as about five-foot-seven and 145 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair.

RCMP is warning the public to not approach Roberts if spotted and to call police instead.
