Battlefords RCMP locate victim after pedestrian struck by truck

RCMP said the victim of a collision involving a pedestrian and a truck on Saturday in Battleford has been found.

In a news release sent Sunday morning, RCMP said the person was located in an unrelated vehicle and told officers they suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The collision happened around 4 p.m. on Dec. 13 on 22nd Street. Police said the victim was standing near a truck when it struck them. The person then got into the same truck, which then left the area.

RCMP later found the dark-coloured truck at a residence on Mosquito Grizzly Bear’s Head Lean Man First Nation. It was empty. Officers have also identified an individual who was seen near the scene.

The truck has different coloured rims on the driver’s side, the front rim is believed to be black and the back rim silver. Police earlier said they were looking to speak with a man seen wearing a black hat with a logo and a brown jacket.

RCMP said they continue to investigate. Anyone with information is asked to call Battlefords RCMP or submit tips anonymously through Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers.
