Two injured after tow truck and semi collide near Midale, Sask.

A person sustained serious injuries Thursday afternoon when a tow truck and semi collided on Highway 39 near Midale, RCMP said.

According to an RCMP news release, emergency crews were called to the scene about six kilometres southeast of Midale around 1:15 p.m.

The driver of the tow truck was transported to hospital by STARS Air Ambulance with injuries described as serious. RCMP said the driver of the semi was taken to hospital in Estevan with injuries described as minor.

Both drivers were the lone occupants of the vehicles, RCMP said.

Highway 39 was initially closed but has been re-opened, police said.
