Sask. RCMP seeking leads after custom BBQ trailer taken in Fiske

Rosetown RCMP are investigating the theft of a custom barbecue trailer in the Hamlet of Fiske.

Police say the trailer was taken on the morning of Feb. 17 after a male suspect hooked it up to his vehicle and drove off. The theft was reported to RCMP the following day.

The vehicle involved is described as a red GMC or Chevrolet half-ton pickup with a silver rear bumper and black mudflaps. Surveillance footage captured the truck leaving town with the trailer, and police are seeking dash cam or other video that may show the vehicle in the Fiske area that morning.

The stolen trailer is custom built, with white rims, a black barbecue, two propane tanks, red and white reflective stickers, and no license plate. Police have released photos of both the truck and the trailer.

Cpl. Chris Gramlich of Rosetown RCMP said in the update the trailer is more than just a barbecue in rural Saskatchewan.

“In many communities, it supports fundraisers, gatherings, events and, in this case, the local curling rink,” he said. “We need the public’s help to identify this vehicle or locate this trailer so it can be returned to the residents of Fiske.”

The Hamlet of Fiske is located 335 kilometres northwest of Regina.
