The Saskatchewan RCMP says its major crimes unit is investigating the suspicious death of a man on Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation.
Just before 3 a.m. Friday, File Hills National Police Service received a report of a sudden death, further investigation then confirmed the death to be suspicious in nature and Saskatchewan RCMP was notified, an RCMP news release said.
According to RCMP, it has not arrested or charged anyone in connection to the death as of 3 p.m. Friday.
“Residents of Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation may notice an increased police presence as this investigation continues. Updates will be provided as they become available,” RCMP said in the release.
RCMP also said that if investigators discover an imminent risk to the public’s safety a notification will be issued.
The deceased man’s identity was not revealed by RCMP.
Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation is approximately 100 kilometres east of Regina.
