Regina police seize drugs, cash amounting to $700,000

Regina police say a 21-year-old man is facing charges after officers seized cocaine, fentanyl, meth and cash adding up to an approximate total of $700,000.

Police first conducted a traffic stop on a suspected drug trafficker on March 28. Nine ounces of fentanyl and a kilogram of methamphetamine was seized, according to a news release.

Officers then executed a search warrant at a home on the 4400 block of James Hill Road where they recovered 3.1 kilograms of fentanyl, 3.4 kilograms of methamphetamine, 740 grams of cocaine and $28,000 in cash.

The 21-year-old suspect from Brampton, Ont. was charged with possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking for cocaine, fentanyl and methamphetamine. He was also charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Regina police said the accused made his first court appearance on March 31.
