It was another record-breaking telethon for the Regina Humane Society on Sunday with a total of $93,068 raised at the annual event.
It was also the first time ever the telethon’s total surpassed $90,000.
“It was a really, spectacular night, we ended up just over $93,000, which is a record for the humane society telethon beating last year by about $5000 or $6000. I do want to thank all those who tunned in and all our hosts, Lee Jones, Chris Henderson and Rory Allen and those that took the time to donate and get behind the work that we do at the humane society,” director of marketing and public relations Bill Thorn said.
The money is used to help thousands of strays, abandoned, abused and neglected animals.
In the last year the Regina Humane Society helped nearly 3,800 animals.
The organization opened a new facility in early 2024 after nearly 60 years at its old location on Armour Road.
