West Shore RCMP continue to actively search for two suspects wanted in connection to Tuesday’s drive-by shooting in Sooke.

On Saturday, RCMP said Thetis Lake Park was safe following Friday’s manhunt in Highlands, which later was extended to the park.

On Friday police were at a local home in an attempt to find two men wanted in the Sooke shooting. While they were at the residence, two individuals believed to be the suspects ran from the property and a large scale search was conducted.

West Shore RCMP were assisted by Victoria Police, Saanich Police, Saanich Police Canine, the RCMP Emergency Response Team as well as the RCMP helicopter.

According to police, due to the large wooded rural area around Thetis Lake, the search that lasted several hours was unsuccessful.

Joshua Lafleur is still wanted in connection to the incident. Police are warning the public to not approach the man as he could be armed. The second suspect’s name is being withheld pending charges.

A third suspect, Dustin David Brown, was arrested on Wednesday. He faces attempted murder charges in connection to the case.
