Officers searching for a missing man in Victoria’s Beacon Hill Park over the weekend found the body of another man, but police aren’t calling his death suspicious.

It started Friday night when staff at the Market on Yates called police when a man made comments indicating he might harm himself.

He was seen entering a taxi bound for Beacon Hill Park.

While looking for him, police were surprised to find the body of an unidentified 86-year-old Victoria man.

Paramedics tried to revive him but were unsuccessful.

The located the other man safe the next afternoon and discovered he had warrants out for his arrest.

He was taken into custody without incident.
