A pedestrian is dead after being struck by a vehicle on Highway 401 in Kingston, Ont. overnight, according to Ontario Provincial Police.
Emergency crews responded to the collision involving a pedestrian in the westbound lanes of Hwy. 401, between Highway 15 and Montreal Street, just after 1:30 a.m. Thursday.
Ontario Provincial Police say the collision involved a pedestrian crossing the highway.
“A vehicle collided with the pedestrian, who was pronounced deceased at the scene as a result,” the OPP said in a media release.
The highway reopened Thursday morning.
The identity of the pedestrian has not been confirmed, according to the OPP.
