Three people are facing charges related to drug trafficking following a search of a Kingston home on Wednesday.

Kingston police say they began an investigation into fentanyl and cocaine trafficking in an apartment complex in the Dalton Avenue and Division Street area in December 2024.

A search warrant allegedly uncovered quantities of cocaine, crack cocaine, fentanyl, Canadian currency, a Cooey shotgun and other drug-related paraphernalia inside the home, police say.

An 18-year-old Toronto man was charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime. He was already facing charges of assault involving a weapon near Barrie, police say.

A 54-year-old Kingston resident was charged with possession for the purposes of trafficking fentanyl. The suspect is currently on a court ordered release related to four previous charges for drug trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime, police say.

A 20-year-old man was also charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime.

“This drug seizure highlights the ongoing influx of fentanyl and other dangerous substances into the city, along with the serious impact they have on the community,” police said in a news release.

“The location of this drug operation within a densely populated high-rise apartment building raised significant concerns for special services members.”

All three suspects were held pending a bail hearing.

Kingston police say tips related to drugs or weapons can be submitted through the force’s online reporting portal.
